Membership sites & Continuity – Why most of us don’t own this cash cow

Ideas for PLR Profits, Making Money 1 Comment »

If you have never started a membership site before, starting one now can be a scary thought.

It’s tempting to stick to the familiar, the safe, the well known choices. Create Adsense sites. Write affiliate reviews. Put up sales pages for products to sell.

When you do one of these, you pretty much know how to proceed. It’s familiar territory, after all. It makes you feel safe and comfortable. Especially since all these things are tried and tested. And they work, no doubt about that.

But where does this familiarity come from?

We have all been to Adsense sites. In fact, most sites we visit,  have Adsense or other forms of advertising on them.

We have also read a lot of blog posts that were affiliate reviews, or web pages that contained affiliate links embedded in them.

We have also been exposed to sales pages. Most of us have even bought several products from these sales pages.

So we have seen several examples of each. We know what the final outcome looks like, what the best practices are, and so on. On the other hand…

Very few of us are subscribers of paid membership sites

As a result, we don’t have a lot of examples to draw from, when planning our own membership sites.

We don’t know what the internal workings are, we don’t know how to keep things updated, we don’t even know what a membership site LOOKS like from the inside!

And then there is the technical stuff to overcome. And there is the problem of coming up with new content regularly to keep subscribers happy.

We don’t even know how or where to outsource this stuff! Nor do we see a lot of oursourcing providers advertising a service to set up membership sites.

No wonder we don’t think about membership sites or continuity systems when planning our next venture.

But memberships and continuity systems are good for us!

Creating and launching membership sites is good, for the following reasons:

  1. It’s truly a set and forget system. Once you set everything up, it continues to work for you, day in and day out. And the money keeps coming in like clockwork.
  2. As long as you can keep adding subscribers, your income will keep rising. Just one sale a day can generate thousands of dollars in income after just a few months.
  3. The income is  mostly passive. Who doesn’t love passive income?
  4. Affiliates love to promote membership sites and continuity systems, because of recurring commissions paid to them.
  5. It’s as close as you can come to a virtually guaranteed income. You get paid for sales that you generated this month, as well as for sales that you generated in the PAST! This is the biggest reason why your income skyrockets after just a few months.

Clearly, membership sites can make you a LOT of money

So then why do most of us try to earn money via other methods?

Ah, that same question that brought us here.

The answer is simple, though, and by now, you know it too.

In a battle between the familiar, the safe choice, and the unfamiliar one, the familiar choice always wins. Hands down.

In fact, I am guilty of this myself! I have this HUGE collection of PLR and MRR products that I could easily sell as a membership, and I have been meaning to, for a long time. But for some reason, I keep postponing it. (In fact, this is a great time for you to buy it, because once it turns into a membership, it will cost you more money overall to own all the products in the package.)

So yes, creating a membership site is scary alright.

And that is why all the familiar stuff kicks membership site creation’s ass

Every single time. We just don’t do it!

But does that mean we should always let membership sites and continuity systems take the backseat? Make them the secondary choice that never gets implemented in practice?

Of course not! All we need to do is actually take the first step and get started!

I urge you to take the first step now

Come on, do it. This could change your life.

Here are two options that I think will make it easiest for you, especially if you are on a tight budget. There are other options, but they are costly.

Option 1: This membership software has everything a high priced software would give you, at at affordable cost. It has features like multiple membership levels, build in affiliate management system, drip content system, different payment modes (free, free trial, one-time, recurring), supports several payment gateways including PayPal, and integrates with most major email marketing systems such as Aweber and GetResponse, etc. Click here to check it out.

Option 2: I like this even better than the previous one. It has all the features of the previous membership software, plus it allows you to install the script on as many domains as you want. So if you plan to install it on more than one site,  you should definitely get this one. Click here to get it.

Both membership scripts I mentioned above are good, so  you can use the one you want, but as I said, if you want to launch more that one membership site, you should consider getting the second one above.

A cool idea for a business model!

Here is a great business model that you can use to make a lot of money. The great thing is, that this can produce a consistent income stream for you.

There are millions of small and medium sized businesses (in the “offline world”) that need their own websites, but don’t have one. A website that looks decent, has the proper “hooks” to convert visitors into customers, and gets a decent amount of traffic is worth a lot to these businesses.

There is just one problem! They don’t know how to build websites that look decent, or get enough traffic. And neither do they have the time to do it themselves.

That’s where you come in!

You are an Internet Marketer. You know how to build a website (or get one built). You know how to drive traffic to it. You know how to make it convert visitors into customers. You know how to build a list of prospects and send them marketing emails to result in even more sales.

In short, YOU know how to drive more sales for these businesses using the power of the Internet. The businesses, however, don’t. This is an incredible opportunity for you to make a huge amount of money.

For example, consider this scenario:

You approach a lawyer in your local area and agree to build him a website that can capture leads (i.e. get people subscribed to his opt-in forms) for $299 upfront, and $29.99 in monthly charges, for hosting and maintenance.

Other types of clients you can approach are accountants, doctors, restaurants, beauticians and stylists, fashion designers, contractors, etc. The list would be too huge to mention here. Just take a walk in your local area and see how many types of businesses there are.

Suppose you get 2 such clients every week (not hard to do at all, if you keep at it). Here’s a chart illustrating how much you will end up making at the end of 12 months.

Month Upfront fees ($) Monthly fees ($)
1 2,392.00 239.92
2 2,392.00 479.84
3 2,392.00 719.76
4 2,392.00 959.68
5 2,392.00 1,199.60
6 2,392.00 1,439.52
7 2,392.00 1,679.44
8 2,392.00 1,919.36
9 2,392.00 2,159.28
10 2,392.00 2,399.20
11 2,392.00 2,639.12
12 2,392.00 2,879.04
Total 28,704.00 18,713.76

So at the end of the year, you will have made more than $47,000, PLUS established a recurring income stream of almost $19,000 per year.Which means that the next year, you can keep building on this income, and it will start adding up pretty soon.

Not bad at all!

And believe me, after a while, you will start getting clients through referrals and word of mouth. So you might actually be getting more than two clients per week that I mentioned above.

And after you have done the initial website for them, and they have stayed with you for a couple of months, you can upsell them on various other services, such as:

  • SEO
  • Google Places/Local listings
  • Mobile marketing
  • Email marketing
  • Social media marketing (Twitter, Facebook, and so on)
  • Creating videos for them that they can put on Youtube, etc.
  • And so on

Each of these will add to your bottomline, and build a recurring income. Recurring income is great because after a while, it helps you bring on staff to help you with some of the work. Bringing on staff is great because:

  • It lets you help more clients’ businesses, and provide even more services to them
  • It helps you get work done faster, better and more efficiently
  • It frees up a lot of your time to spend with friends and family
  • It creates employment opportunities for others!

But it all starts from a simple website that you create for them. From there, you can move on to other add-on services listed above.

As you can see, the possibilities are HUGE!

But it’s up to you to make it work. Here is a list of resources that are a MUST-have if you want to make this work. You may be able to make things work without these, but it would make things extremely difficult.

Resource 1: Get a reseller hosting account from Hostgator. Seriously, Hostgator has the best reseller hosting there is, and everyone doing this uses their reseller hosting. For less than $25 per month, you can host unlimited websites or subdomains, and you even get 4500 website templates and a free site builder software so you can create great looking websites for your clients in no time. Plus they even handle billing your clients, using their billing system. Click here to learn more about Hostgator reseller hosting.

Resource 2: Get the Huge PLR/MRR Pack. It contains so much material and so many tools to make your life easier. Over 200,000 PLR articles that you can use as content for your clients (after rewriting, of course!). 225,000+ website templates, graphics logos and PHP scripts that will make your clients website look like they were designed by an ultra professional. Plus it contains hundreds of Worspress templates and plugins to help market your clients’ websites too. Get it now, here.

Resource 3: If you plan to do email marketing for your clients, you should sign up with Aweber as well. Aweber has the best in class email marketing service, and their delivery rates are second to none.

Resource 4: I understand you may not be able to do everything yourself in the beginning. That is why it’s a good idea to get help from someone who knows what they are doing. I have a WordPress site creation service that may be of use to you. If you have some other type of work that you need done, click the button on the right side of that page to get in touch with me and discuss the details. I can get it done for you at very affordable rates, so you have a lot of margin left over for your own profits. And your clients will all be yours to keep.

Hopefully, this gives you enough to get started. In future posts, I will cover the individual steps required to make this work well, if you need that sort of help. But in the meantime, this should be enough to get you started.

Now go and make things happen! :-)

Setting up PLR membership sites – Virtually guaranteed income

Ideas for PLR Profits, Making Money, PLR Resources 3 Comments »

If you are like me, and your hard drive is full of PLR, membership sites are something you should definitely think about. In this post, we will talk about how to create a full-fledged membership site using PLR material, and only using free tools.

Why start your own membership site

The most important reason for starting your own membership site is that it can virtually guarantee your income from month to month. Each member pays you a fixed amount per month, and the more members you have, the more money you make.

The beauty of this setup is that you only have to sell each member once. Once you get a customer to join your membership site, you keep getting paid by that customer month after month, for as long as they stay a member.

So what this means is that you can have a very nice monthly income just by making a few new sales per month. This is because you keep getting paid each month for the sales you made in the past months, plus you also start getting paid for the new sales you made this month.

So as an example, let’s say you have a membership site that sells for $19/month, and you make just one sale per day. At this rate, you make $570 at the end of the first month. At the end of the second month, you make $1,140. At the end of the third month, you make $1,710. At the end of the sixth month, you make $3,420. And so on.

Do you see how it keeps increasing? Just one sale per day translates into a healthy monthly income after just a few months. And it goes up from there.

How to start your own membership site

In spite of what you may think or may have heard, it’s not hard to get started at all. And it doesn’t cost a whole lot of money either. In fact, you can get started in just a few minutes if you want.

And I will show you two methods, one of which will let you get started using just free tools, and the other will require you to invest just a few bucks per month to keep going. I suggest you take a look at both, and pick the one you like best.

I have personally used both methods to make money for myself (still do) and can vouch for their ease of use and low-tech setup.

Method 1: Start your membership site using free tools

This method is not just low cost, it’s also low tech, and takes just a few hours per month to maintain. It’s basically a set of videos that you can watch to learn the full details.

Just one thing: The video will show you how to get your membership site started in six minutes, but it will take you a little longer to put the content in place (of course). Just something I thought I should let you know before you dive into the full details.

More details are out of scope for this blog post, so if you are interested, you can click here to learn more.

Method 2: Start your membership site using low cost tools

Once again, this method is also pretty low tech, and employs a low cost tool to get going. The advantage of this method over the previous one is that you only need to do the work once as far as creating content is concerned. After that, as new members keep joining, they start at the beginning, and go through the rest of the content in a linear fashion.

You can get started in 48 hours or less.

Read more on this page.

Like I said, I have personally used both methods, and still use them to make money every single month. As different as the two methods are, they have one thing in common – make you money using your own membership sites, month after month.

You can use PLR content for these membership sites, or you can write your own if you want. A package of 200,000+ PLR articles is available here.

How to outsource without hiring anyone

Ideas for PLR Profits, Making Money 10 Comments »

This insight has resulted in a five figure income for me in the past six months or so. It’s a game changer, as far as I am concerned.

Before I share the insight with you, tell me something:

Why do we outsource?

Well, I think we outsource stuff for two reasons:

  1. To save time
  2. To save money

Outsourcing saves time because it lets us delegate the work to someone else while we do something that is more important or enjoyable.

And outsourcing saves money as well because it’s more expensive in many cases to do it yourself, thus robbing yourself of time to do more important stuff, or because it’s costly to do it wrong (for example, if you are not a designer, and try to design your site yourself, it may well cost you a lot in lost sales).

So yeah, outsourcing rocks.

But is there a way to make outsourcing even better?

What if we could save even more time and save even more money as we outsource? Is it possible?

Can we reduce the time it takes to outsource to someone and get back the result to a bare minimum, say a few minutes or seconds?

And can we reduce the money it takes to get our desired outcome to pennies on the dollar?

Can we?

Yes!

Outsourcing is a process. What you want is results.

So why not focus on the results, and skip the process?

Create time and money by investing into results, not the process.

For example, if you want a site design, it’s quicker and cheaper to just buy a web template, rather than hiring a designer to do it for you. Just look for a design that meets your needs, customize it to your tastes and requirements, and you are good to go. Takes just an hour or two at the max.

Another example: If you want to add content to your site, it’s quicker and cheaper to get hold of a few PLR articles and just add them to your site after rewriting them a bit.

Yet another example: If you want to sell products of your own, it’s much quicker and cheaper to buy a product with resale rights than it is to create one from scratch or hiring someone to create it for you.

The power of outsourcing without hiring

Do you see it now?

You were going to spend money anyway (on outsourcing).

But when you buy tools and products that let you bypass the whole process, you not only save a lot of money, you also save a lot of time.

It’s outsourcing on steroids.

And oh, these tools and products that you buy? Well, they will never make lame excuses like their Internet connection broke down, or their hard drive crashed, or they were sick, and so on. They will be there when you need them. No delays. No excuses.

Recommended resources:

Hundreds of thousands of PLR articles with tools to make them unique (outsource article writing AND the “rewriting” too)

20 resale rights products every week, in a variety of niches (outsource product creation)
