Thinking of submitting PLR articles to article directories?

5000+ FREE PLR articles!

There are just a few things you need to keep in mind before submitting your private label rights (PLR) articles to online article directories.

Take a look at the quality of the PLR articles you have

Of course, the first thing to do is to make sure that the content you provide is well written and informative.

Grammatical or other kinds of mistakes that come from poor writing skills are going to drive readers (and thus your traffic) away faster than anything else you might do.

So go through your PLR articles, revise them to fit your marketing needs and edit them as needed. Make sure you correct all grammatical errors, fix all the typos, and rewrite where necessary.

Long article or short?

One question that plagues more article writers is whether they should submit long articles or short ones.

Article directories themselves insist on long articles. Long articles also help you rank well in the search engines, because search engines LOVE content.

On the other hand, long articles tend to lower your results in terms of getting click throughs from your article resource box. Very few people end up reaching the end of the article and reading your resource box, let alone click it.

So in the end it’s a balancing trick between trying to get higher search engine rankings and getting around people’s low attention spans.

Something like 300-400 words should keep both you and the article directories happy. If necessary, make changes to the article to get an optimum word count before you submit it to any article directory.

Rewrite the article before submitting

As you know, several people, sometimes even hundreds, have access to the same PLR article. Submitting them as-is to the article directories will get them rejected on account of duplicate content.

So all you need to do is rewrite the article a bit to make it unique. Here are a couple posts on this blog to help you with this task and achieve it quickly:

  1. Turn old PLR articles into fresh, new content in 10 minutes
  2. How to create unique content using PLR articles

Rewriting the articles will not only make them stand out, it will increase the chances of getting your article accepted in the article directories.

Add a resource box at the end

A byline or resource box is crucial to the success of your article marketing efforts.

Just add a few sentences about your website, and include a link back to it. Make sure the anchor text for the link uses keywords that are relevant to both the article and your website.

At a minimum, your resource box should contain these items:

  1. Your name
  2. Your website address
  3. 1-3 sentences describing you and your offer
  4. Your “call to action” (where you ask them to click on the link, or to buy, etc.)

The better your resource box is, the more results you will get out of your efforts.

Other tips and do’s and don’ts:

  • Make sure you provide useful and accurate information in your articles.
  • Your article should provide useful information, but not the “whole” information. It should only serve as a “teaser” to entice readers to click the link in your resource box and come to your website for the rest of the information.
  • Avoid any hype or other useless information. This can only get your articles rejected by the article directory.
  • After you’ve revised your PLR article and submitted it to article directories, look for ways to promote the article AND promote using the article to increase traffic to your web site.
  • Look for other marketing means like using snippets of you articles on blogs and in forum posts, and tagging them in social networking sites as helpful resources for others.
  • Don’t break the rules. Before you submit your PLR article to article directories, make sure that you meet their guidelines.
  • Make sure that the articles you write are free of character errors (i.e. run your content through a text editor like Notepad first). This will make sure there are no funky or non-ASCII characters in your article text. This is important especially if the PLR article is in Word .doc format.

By taking these few steps, you’ll ensure that you are able to utilize all your PLR articles for your article marketing by submitting them to article directories. It pays to spend a little time to check these few things first when using PLR articles.

Turn old PLR articles into fresh, new content in just 10 minutes

General, Rewriting PLR 1 Comment »

(This post is a live example of producing fresh and new content using private label rights articles in just a few minutes. I took an old PLR article and created fresh content out of it in just over 9 minutes. All I did was follow the instructions laid out below.)

The purpose of this article is to hopefully help those of you that can’t seem to rework those PLR articles into fresh content the search engines are going to love.

But first, a disclaimer:

I can’t guarantee you can make every PLR article unique in 10 minutes. I simply don’t know you and everyone is different. For example, some of you may be able to type 100 wpm while others are hunt and peck typists.

But yes, I personally have taken articles and made them unique within 10 minutes. In some cases it has taken 30 minutes to an hour depending on the type and length of the content.

That said, let’s move on.

Turning PLR articles into unique content

If you own lots of private label rights articles and they’re just collecting dust sitting on your hard drive because you feel it just takes too long to make them unique or too expensive to have them rewritten then you’ll want to read this article.

You really just want to make yourself a little more unique than everyone else out there promoting the same PLR ebooks and articles and by combining PLR’s together, you can be more unique.

Another really good idea is to make audio eBooks out of some of the PLR articles you have not doing anything but sitting on your hard drive. Audio files make it easy for folks to get the information they are looking for but without having to read it.

Not only are audio files easier to “consume,” but you can also charge more for this type of media due to the perceived value and the ease of use.

Now that I’ve given you some ideas of what can be done with articles and eBooks, I’ll go ahead and walk through one of the methods I use. Let’s go ahead and get started!

(More ideas for creating unique content using PLR articles.)

Steps to turn old PLR articles into fresh, new content

First of all you need to change the title to something that is a good match to the content and also something that would have one or two good keywords in the title.

Normally I’ll take an article that has around 500 words and add a short paragraph at the beginning and maybe at the end as well. But usually just adding a paragraph at the beginning is sufficient.

After the title is changed and a paragraph is added then it’s time for the content to be changed. I’ve found the quickest way to do this is changing the words into my own as I read the article. Perhaps I’ll add a sentence or delete a sentence here and there as I’m going through the content. This really depends on the flow of the original article.

Once this has been completed it’s time to proof read the new article. Finally after any errors are corrected I’ll read the entire article one more time to make sure that it has good content and that people will genuinely benefit from the content.

The final step is to get my article published. I use Isnare.com most of the time. The reason I use them is they will distribute your article to over 40,000 publishers and hundreds of article sites. They charge a small fee per article but it’s well worth the money and the time you save by submitting only one time.

I hope you have enjoyed this article and it has been helpful. If you have any ideas to share, please comment below.

PLR Article Rewriting Software

Rewriting PLR 4 Comments »

After writing a bit about how and why you should rewrite PLR articles, I decided to look at some automated ways of doing it, namely a PLR article rewriting software.

As you know, there are quite a few ways of rewriting PLR articles:

  • Rewrite them manually, or outsource the rewriting
  • Use an article spinner software, that can generate up to a hundred or more versions of the same article
  • Use a semi automated tool like the PLR Article Toolkit
  • Use a true article rewriting software

Any of the above methods is fine, depending on your needs and abilities.

Of course, manual rewriting of PLR articles is the best, but it may not be feasible for everyone, especially if you don’t have a lot of time (or money to outsource), and/or English is not your first language. But if this is what you want to do, here are a few tips on rewriting PLR articles.

Similarly, PLR article spinners are fine if you want to just post some garbage all over the net, without any concern for quality. Now, I am not saying that all article spinners generate garbage. It’s just that this is what I have heard about all of them. If there is good one that I haven’t heard about, please let me know in the comments below.

PLR Article Toolkit is a great set of software tools that can semi automate the task of rewriting PLR articles. It provides a lot of options to make the articles unique, and even convert a whole directory of PLR articles into web pages at the click of a button.

But if you don’t want to do even that much work, you may want to look at the fourth option – a PLR article rewriting software.

Why PLR article rewriting software and tools are good

If you need to rewrite a lot of articles, the cost or time involved will quickly add up. For example:

  • If you spend 30 minutes rewriting an article manually, it will take you 25 hours to rewrite 50 articles. What is your time worth in dollars?
  • If you spend $5 per article on outsourcing the rewriting job, you need $250 to get 50 articles rewritten.

As you can see, things quickly add up when you have a lot of articles that need rewriting.

This is where a rewriting software or tool comes in handy, because it can save you both money and time.

My recommended PLR article rewriting software

I took a look at a few software and tools that promise to do the job, and among the ones that I looked at, I found WordFlood to be the best. I don’t know if it’s the absolute best, but it’s the best among the ones I looked at.

I urge you to give it a try. You can read more details and even watch a video about it here.

Do you use a PLR article rewriting software yourself? What is your experience? Can you share a tip, insight, or a tool that you think will help others? Please comment below.

How To Rewrite One Good Article In Under One Hour

Ideas for PLR Profits, Rewriting PLR 1 Comment »

Article marketing is a very good way to accumulate backlinks that point back to your site and generate visitors. Unfortunately, search engine companies like Google have clammed down hard on duplicate content so your works must appear somewhat ‘original’ or unique to be acceptable in article directories. In this article you’ll discover 7 tips to rewriting one good article under 1 hour and you’ll have no worries about other writers accusing you of plagiarism.

First of all, there must be an appropriate mindset that comes before the skill. If I may attribute a quote by Stephen King correctly, he said, “The more you read, the more you write.” It simply means anyone is capable of mentally storing accumulated knowledge for as long as s/he keeps reading, and with this pool of knowledge arise a desire to express oneself based on what s/he knows. This is the fundamental first step to establishing expertise. No one can lie about what s/he doesn’t know and shouldn’t downplay what they truly know if they can be in a position to help others and get paid for it.

Second, the structure and length of the article must be determined before writing commences. I recommend a length of 410 words to beat the minimum limit for acceptable article submission. A classic set of criteria for structuring would be:

  1. Describe a problem, challenge or scenario that needs to be fixed.
  2. Describe the consequences if the problem remains ignored.
  3. List down possible solutions to help fix the problem. Put them in point form.
  4. Highlight the benefits of applying the solutions.
  5. Present in a case study, a real or theoretical positive outcome when the solutions are applied.
  6. Summarize the key theme of the article and re-emphasize the need to solve the problem. End it with a “call to action”.

Finishing a 410-word article is really short and you’ll surely find yourself surpassing this limit when you practice writing.

Another thing to bear in mind is the use of synonyms. As you research for your content, be alert for words which you can replace with another of the same meaning. This will help you beat duplication.

The most wonderful thing about rewriting content is that although your words have to be unique, the ideas behind them are not. You can research a wide range of PLR articles or other people’s articles and cut them up, add to them, combine them with other content, or go one step further and create an e-book or audio/video product only because you don’t feel ‘right’ with how they write…the sky really is the limit! Include your own personal opinions and experiences about the topic or explain in greater detail the theories or concepts that are only mentioned briefly in other articles. Coming up with a list of solutions in point form is as easy as deriving one tip you can summarize in a single statement from each and every article you research. The more things you can think of, the more unique your resulting product will be.

Rewriting articles is not difficult at all. It’s not like I’m asking you to “start from scratch”. Once you get past the initial phase and develop a habit and a personal taste for expressing yourself in a professional way, article writing can be a very enjoyable activity. You can do it fast and never have a shortage of unique content again!

Why you must rewrite all your PLR articles

Ideas for PLR Profits, PLR Basics, Rewriting PLR 4 Comments »

It’s always a good idea to rewrite all the PLR articles that you buy. Here are a few reasons why rewriting PLR articles is such a good thing and why you must do it.

Rewriting increases the value of PLR content

When you rewrite PLR articles, you typically separate it from the rest of the crowd who is using the same content as everyone else. As a result of your rewriting, the content gets your voice, your experiences, and your biases. In other words, you increase the VALUE that the reader is going to get from it.

Rewriting increases the quality of PLR articles

Value goes hand in hand with quality. As the quality of your content increases, so does its value.

When you rewrite an article, you correct any grammatical errors, typos, etc. Rewriting helps you get rid of any errors or omissions that may be present in the articles. When you rewrite, the article gets proofread automatically.

Rewriting helps you bypass the pricing war with other sellers of the same PLR material

Competing with other people on price will never make you any money with PLR.

But when you rewrite your PLR material, you essentially ELIMINATE all competition. And here I use the word “competition” to mean other people who are selling the same material that you would have, prior to rewriting.

Once you rewrite the PLR material, you effectively create a new product out of it. And this new product is yours, and you can charge whatever you want for it.

Rewriting makes your content unique

Unique not just in the sense of being written in different words. I am not talking about using “may” or “should” instead of “must,” for example. I am talking about adding a unique twist to it to make it stand out from the rest.

For example, can you take an article that lists 10 reasons for quitting smoking, and turn it into an article about why you would like your wife (or husband, or boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.) to stop smoking?

Rewriting helps you avoid the duplicate content filter

This is a problem that every single user of PLR articles has to face. Google’s famous duplicate content filter.

But rewriting your articles lets you easily bypass the duplicate content filter, as your article isn’t a duplicate any more.

Rewriting lets you reuse the same essential content in a variety of niches

Wouldn’t that be great? Write once, and use in a variety of niches?

Take the example of the quitting smoking article I mentioned above:

  • Use it in the quit smoking niche
  • Rewrite a bit and use it again in the staying healthy niche (or in any of the multiple sub-niches in the health niche – heart, lungs, blood pressure, cancer, and so on)
  • Rewrite a bit and use it in the parenting niche (why you should discourage your teen from smoking)
  • Rewrite again and use it in the personal development/self improvement niche
  • Rewrite yet again and use it in the relationship niche (why you don’t want to date someone who smokes)

Get the idea? ;-)

Rewriting helps you “splinter” your content for different audiences and position it in different ways.

Rewriting helps you optimize the PLR articles for search engines

Some PLR articles may already be optimized for search engines, but what if you are targeting a different keyword? When you rewrite the article, you can optimize it as well. If the article is already optimized, you can tweak the optimization to target a different keyword.

Rewriting content makes it easier to obtain backlinks

Let’s face it. No one is ever going to link to a page with content that is already there on hundreds of other sites or blogs. If you want links, your content MUST be unique.

More links = higher search engine rankings and more traffic, so it’s absolutely critical for your business to rewrite your articles.

As you can see, there are plenty of reasons why you must rewrite PLR articles before using them.
