How To Rewrite One Good Article In Under One Hour

Ideas for PLR Profits, Rewriting PLR 1 Comment »

Article marketing is a very good way to accumulate backlinks that point back to your site and generate visitors. Unfortunately, search engine companies like Google have clammed down hard on duplicate content so your works must appear somewhat ‘original’ or unique to be acceptable in article directories. In this article you’ll discover 7 tips to rewriting one good article under 1 hour and you’ll have no worries about other writers accusing you of plagiarism.

First of all, there must be an appropriate mindset that comes before the skill. If I may attribute a quote by Stephen King correctly, he said, “The more you read, the more you write.” It simply means anyone is capable of mentally storing accumulated knowledge for as long as s/he keeps reading, and with this pool of knowledge arise a desire to express oneself based on what s/he knows. This is the fundamental first step to establishing expertise. No one can lie about what s/he doesn’t know and shouldn’t downplay what they truly know if they can be in a position to help others and get paid for it.

Second, the structure and length of the article must be determined before writing commences. I recommend a length of 410 words to beat the minimum limit for acceptable article submission. A classic set of criteria for structuring would be:

  1. Describe a problem, challenge or scenario that needs to be fixed.
  2. Describe the consequences if the problem remains ignored.
  3. List down possible solutions to help fix the problem. Put them in point form.
  4. Highlight the benefits of applying the solutions.
  5. Present in a case study, a real or theoretical positive outcome when the solutions are applied.
  6. Summarize the key theme of the article and re-emphasize the need to solve the problem. End it with a “call to action”.

Finishing a 410-word article is really short and you’ll surely find yourself surpassing this limit when you practice writing.

Another thing to bear in mind is the use of synonyms. As you research for your content, be alert for words which you can replace with another of the same meaning. This will help you beat duplication.

The most wonderful thing about rewriting content is that although your words have to be unique, the ideas behind them are not. You can research a wide range of PLR articles or other people’s articles and cut them up, add to them, combine them with other content, or go one step further and create an e-book or audio/video product only because you don’t feel ‘right’ with how they write…the sky really is the limit! Include your own personal opinions and experiences about the topic or explain in greater detail the theories or concepts that are only mentioned briefly in other articles. Coming up with a list of solutions in point form is as easy as deriving one tip you can summarize in a single statement from each and every article you research. The more things you can think of, the more unique your resulting product will be.

Rewriting articles is not difficult at all. It’s not like I’m asking you to “start from scratch”. Once you get past the initial phase and develop a habit and a personal taste for expressing yourself in a professional way, article writing can be a very enjoyable activity. You can do it fast and never have a shortage of unique content again!

Why you must rewrite all your PLR articles

Ideas for PLR Profits, PLR Basics, Rewriting PLR 7 Comments »

It’s always a good idea to rewrite all the PLR articles that you buy. Here are a few reasons why rewriting PLR articles is such a good thing and why you must do it.

Rewriting increases the value of PLR content

When you rewrite PLR articles, you typically separate it from the rest of the crowd who is using the same content as everyone else. As a result of your rewriting, the content gets your voice, your experiences, and your biases. In other words, you increase the VALUE that the reader is going to get from it.

Rewriting increases the quality of PLR articles

Value goes hand in hand with quality. As the quality of your content increases, so does its value.

When you rewrite an article, you correct any grammatical errors, typos, etc. Rewriting helps you get rid of any errors or omissions that may be present in the articles. When you rewrite, the article gets proofread automatically.

Rewriting helps you bypass the pricing war with other sellers of the same PLR material

Competing with other people on price will never make you any money with PLR.

But when you rewrite your PLR material, you essentially ELIMINATE all competition. And here I use the word “competition” to mean other people who are selling the same material that you would have, prior to rewriting.

Once you rewrite the PLR material, you effectively create a new product out of it. And this new product is yours, and you can charge whatever you want for it.

Rewriting makes your content unique

Unique not just in the sense of being written in different words. I am not talking about using “may” or “should” instead of “must,” for example. I am talking about adding a unique twist to it to make it stand out from the rest.

For example, can you take an article that lists 10 reasons for quitting smoking, and turn it into an article about why you would like your wife (or husband, or boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.) to stop smoking?

Rewriting helps you avoid the duplicate content filter

This is a problem that every single user of PLR articles has to face. Google’s famous duplicate content filter.

But rewriting your articles lets you easily bypass the duplicate content filter, as your article isn’t a duplicate any more.

Rewriting lets you reuse the same essential content in a variety of niches

Wouldn’t that be great? Write once, and use in a variety of niches?

Take the example of the quitting smoking article I mentioned above:

  • Use it in the quit smoking niche
  • Rewrite a bit and use it again in the staying healthy niche (or in any of the multiple sub-niches in the health niche – heart, lungs, blood pressure, cancer, and so on)
  • Rewrite a bit and use it in the parenting niche (why you should discourage your teen from smoking)
  • Rewrite again and use it in the personal development/self improvement niche
  • Rewrite yet again and use it in the relationship niche (why you don’t want to date someone who smokes)

Get the idea? ;-)

Rewriting helps you “splinter” your content for different audiences and position it in different ways.

Rewriting helps you optimize the PLR articles for search engines

Some PLR articles may already be optimized for search engines, but what if you are targeting a different keyword? When you rewrite the article, you can optimize it as well. If the article is already optimized, you can tweak the optimization to target a different keyword.

Rewriting content makes it easier to obtain backlinks

Let’s face it. No one is ever going to link to a page with content that is already there on hundreds of other sites or blogs. If you want links, your content MUST be unique.

More links = higher search engine rankings and more traffic, so it’s absolutely critical for your business to rewrite your articles.

As you can see, there are plenty of reasons why you must rewrite PLR articles before using them.

What type of PLR site are you looking for?

General, PLR Basics 18 Comments »

In your quest for PLR articles, you will undoubtedly come across a lot of PLR sites. What you are going to discover is that there are more than one type of PLR sites.

  • PLR sites that sell packs or bundles of PLR articles (let’s call these “PLR packs sites”)
  • PLR sites that offer subscription or memberships (let’s call these “PLR membership sites”)

Which one is right for you?

Here are a few points that may help you decide:

PLR membership sites end up costing you more

On the other hand, the advantage of PLR packs sites is that you don’t need to  keep paying money month after month. You just arrive at the site, buy the good stuff, and take off. You pay ONCE, not again and again.

PLR membership sites make you wait for the exact content you need

… sometimes indefinitely!

Come to think of it, you are not the only customer a PLR membership site has. To stay competitive, a PLR membership site must keep creating content for a variety of niches every month. But what if your niche never gets its turn? Or has to wait a long time for its turn?

And don’t forget that you are paying good money each month to get the privilege to wait for the content you need. :-|

A PLR packs site on the other hand, can give you content for the exact topic you need, the moment you need it. If not, you can just move on to some  other site.

PLR membership sites don’t give you enough content in any given niche

How many articles do you think a PLR membership site gives you each month, in any given niche?

First of all, if and when the turn of a niche comes, it gets a very limited number of articles – say 10 or 20. That’s not enough to create a full site, though it may help to add a few articles here and there.

Both types of sites need you to rewrite the content, for best effects

But you need to pay more for membership sites. Go figure.

The thing is, PLR articles are best used as idea joggers, or skeletons for other articles. (Other uses of PLR articles)

So when you need to spend time working on every PLR article, no matter what the source, why pay more? I realize the quality of the original article affects how much time you need to spend on it, but remember that membership sites require you to pay month after month.

PLR membership sites have their advantages too

To be fair, there are situations where you may consider joining a PLR membership site as well. For example, if you have sites in a variety of niches, you may find that the articles from your PLR membership site are all useful to you, for one site or the other.

Also, because PLR memberships cost you more, typically the quality of articles is higher. And since the number of membership spots are limited, the chances of other people using the same number of articles gets greatly reduced.

Hopefully this post has given you a few ideas to consider. In my opinion, both PLR membership sites as well as PLR packs sites have their own merits and demerits. Which one you choose depends on your exact situation.

By the way, this site is a PLR packs site. Just sayin’! ;-)

How to create unique content using PLR articles

Ideas for PLR Profits, PLR Basics, Rewriting PLR 25 Comments »

Have you ever wanted to buy PLR articles, but hesitated because you were worried about duplicate content issues?

I understand how you feel. And I  understand your skepticism. I would feel the same way in your position.

Publishing PLR articles on your website just the way you got them can really affect your search engine rankings. And if you try to submit them to article directories, your article may get rejected. Article directories just don’t allow duplicate content.

So what’s the solution? As it turns out, there are several ways you can create unique content using PLR articles. Read on to learn more…

Combine two or more PLR articles to create a single unique article

This one is easy. Just take a portion from each article and put them together. Maybe add a few sentences here and there to keep the flow smooth.

Combing articles to create a unique one has an additional advantage that you can use this technique to create longer articles.

Try to look for a common theme. For example, if you take an article about Windows, another about Mac, and yet another about Linux, you can combine them and write an article that gives an overview of all the different operating systems.

Split an article into two or more longer articles

If you can combine articles, you can split them too, right?

Well, yes, technically. But then you will have to do some writing of your own.

What you can do is take a paragraph or an idea from an article and expand it into an article in its own right. For example, if you take an article about the top five ways of doing something, you can probably write a separate article for each of the methods covered in the original article.

Takes a bit of work, but hey, you end up with more number of articles than you started with.

Rewrite the article (or get someone else to do it)

If all your attempts at combining or splitting the articles to create unique content have failed, the least you can do is simply rewrite all of the PLR articles that you have.

Simply change the headline, the first paragraph, the ending, and a few sentences here and there. Should take you just a few minutes per article.

Or if you don’t want to spend the time rewriting the articles yourself, you can also outsource it to someone else on the cheap. Sites like elance or rentacoder give you access to a lot of writers who can rewrite your PLR articles.

Translate to some other language

Who says your PLR article must be used in the same language you purchased it in? There are millions of people online whose native language is something other than English. By translating your article in their language, you are not only creating unique content, but doing these people a great service.

Just be sure to ask a native speaker of the language to do the translation, and don’t use some online tool for it, or your content will look like gibberish! ;-)

Convert to audio or video

Converting your PLR articles to audio or video format will not only increase their perceived value, they will also give you a chance to make them unique as you go, without having to spend a lot of time.

You can do this with very basic equipment if you want to. No need to get too fancy. Just get a simple headphone with a mic, and a webcam, and a recording software, and you are good to go.

Convert the article to audio, and then back to text

Just put the article in front of you, start recording, and keep reading the article. But instead of repeating what’s in the article verbatim, you can keep saying each sentence in a different way than is written.

You can even expand each sentence into stories or examples, and add your own perspective here and there.

Once you have finished recording, you can transcribe it back and get a text version. If you are too lazy to type, or don’t have the time, you can use one of the transcribing services online.

Use the PLR Article Toolkit software (available from plr-packs.com)

The PLR Article Toolkit software that is a part of this Huge collection of PLR and MRR products can let you create unique content from your PLR articles packs in a matter of minutes or even seconds.

The toolkit will insert random snippets of text (that you choose) into your articles to make them completely unique. You can use this feature to insert quotes from people in your niche, or links, or bits of code, or anything else that you want.

And you can even point the software to a directory full or PLR articles, and it will automatically create web pages out of them. Just like that.

What is more important than traffic?

Ideas for PLR Profits, Making Money 18 Comments »

You know what is more important than traffic?

A good business model, that’s what.

The better your business model is at extracting money from your site’s visitors, the more money you will make. Period.

One model I really like is the “Publisher model,” which not only sounds fancy and respectable ;-) , but is also really easy for anyone to set up AND makes a lot of money for you, if done correctly.

Here is how it works in the web scenario:

1. Create a website with lots of content on it, monetized using Adsense or affiliate links, etc.

2. Drive traffic to it

3. Make money

I realize that’s overly simplistic, but that about describes the essence of it.

But most people screw it up anyway. They get stuck on the first step – creating the website.

What they do is they confuse the publisher model with the writer model, and mix the two up.

Instead of focusing on PUBLISHING the content on their website, they keep focusing on WRITING the content themselves.

And that’s where the screwup lies. Because writing content not only takes a lot more time than you need, it also pays nothing.

Writing content does not pay you any money. PUBLISHING content does.

If you are going to follow the publisher model, please stick to being a publisher. Let someone else be the writer.

Just like all those publishing companies do in the offline world. The publishers of books and magazines make way more money than the writers themselves.

Not just that, the publishers earn money from a LOT of books and magazines being sold, whereas the writer earns money (if at all) from just a few (or one) book.

Can you translate that back to the web scenario? If you write all the content yourself, you can only have one, two or three websites making money for you (if at all), whereas if you stop writing the content and focus on just publishing the content on your website, you can be making money from a lot of websites, all at once.

Think of a website as a well-oiled “machine” that keeps working for you, day in and day out. Set it up once, and forget it. Then move on to the next machine.

THAT is where the real strength of the Publisher Model lies.

Anyone can do it. I can do it. You can do it.

But the question is, are you going to actually do it?

PLR content makes it really easy for you to follow the Publisher Model. Here is where you can get 200,000+  PLR articles as well as some cool stuff to make your PLR articles unique to avoid duplicate content issues and create one site after another like a machine.
