The difference between Resell Rights, Master Resell Rights & Private Label Rights

Many people are confused about the difference between resell rights, master resell rights and private label rights. Some believe that these terms mean the same thing; however, they are not. Take a look at the differences.

Resell Rights

If you purchase a product that comes with resell rights, you have the right to resell the product “as is” in conjunction with the terms and conditions set forth in your license. Basically this means that you are not allowed to alter, edit or in any other way change the product. And you may not put claim it as being your own by putting your name on it as the author.

Check your license, though, for specific resell rights rules. Not all are the same. For example, some products are not allowed to be sold in eBay auctions, potentially devaluing them.

Master Resell Rights

There is one big difference between resell rights and master resell rights. While resell rights allow you the right to resell the product, master resell rights allow you to resell the product along with the resell rights.

This is a powerful combination for potential buyers who also make a living selling to others. Because with master rights, they can use your product for themselves plus they can include it in their product line to generate extra income.

And just as with resell rights, make sure to look closer at the license that comes with the product. There may be limitations about where you can sell and not be allowed to add unlimited products to a membership site, for example.

Private Label Rights

Private label rights are considered by many to be the “grand daddy of all rights.” When you have private label rights, you are allowed to edit, alter, revise and in any other way change the product as you like to suit your needs.

Plus you can claim authorship, slapping your own name or company name on the product as the author or originator. This means you are able to change paragraph order, sentence structure, insert other paragraphs or entire articles, graphics, ads… whatever you want to the product.

Or you might choose to break the product down into several different products. Regardless of what you decide to do, you can brand it and do what you want with it- toss up sales materials, promote and sell it as your own product, naming it what you like.

Many buyers prefer private label rights because they help save lots of time, money, energy and hard work creating new products. And some private label rights products come with lots of marketing materials that you can revise to go with the products, more of a win-win; like websites, sales copy, articles for marketing and autoresponder series and more.

Which to Choose

Since products with private label rights do come packaged with so much more freedom to do with as you wish, private label rights product packages generally cost more to purchase than resell and master rights product packages.

And some products may even come with a variety of different options offered to buyers, each priced accordingly; for example, buying the product with no rights, with resell rights, with master resell rights or with private label rights so that you can revise the product then package it to resell any way you want.

So print out this handy reference page to help with any confusion with these various terms. And if you are ever given a choice, always opt for private label rights. These will allow you to have a product of your very own, without actually having to create one yourself, and to market it as well.

How to outsource without hiring anyone

Ideas for PLR Profits, Making Money 5 Comments »

This insight has resulted in a five figure income for me in the past six months or so. It’s a game changer, as far as I am concerned.

Before I share the insight with you, tell me something:

Why do we outsource?

Well, I think we outsource stuff for two reasons:

  1. To save time
  2. To save money

Outsourcing saves time because it lets us delegate the work to someone else while we do something that is more important or enjoyable.

And outsourcing saves money as well because it’s more expensive in many cases to do it yourself, thus robbing yourself of time to do more important stuff, or because it’s costly to do it wrong (for example, if you are not a designer, and try to design your site yourself, it may well cost you a lot in lost sales).

So yeah, outsourcing rocks.

But is there a way to make outsourcing even better?

What if we could save even more time and save even more money as we outsource? Is it possible?

Can we reduce the time it takes to outsource to someone and get back the result to a bare minimum, say a few minutes or seconds?

And can we reduce the money it takes to get our desired outcome to pennies on the dollar?

Can we?

Yes!

Outsourcing is a process. What you want is results.

So why not focus on the results, and skip the process?

Create time and money by investing into results, not the process.

For example, if you want a site design, it’s quicker and cheaper to just buy a web template, rather than hiring a designer to do it for you. Just look for a design that meets your needs, customize it to your tastes and requirements, and you are good to go. Takes just an hour or two at the max.

Another example: If you want to add content to your site, it’s quicker and cheaper to get hold of a few PLR articles and just add them to your site after rewriting them a bit.

Yet another example: If you want to sell products of your own, it’s much quicker and cheaper to buy a product with resale rights than it is to create one from scratch or hiring someone to create it for you.

The power of outsourcing without hiring

Do you see it now?

You were going to spend money anyway (on outsourcing).

But when you buy tools and products that let you bypass the whole process, you not only save a lot of money, you also save a lot of time.

It’s outsourcing on steroids.

And oh, these tools and products that you buy? Well, they will never make lame excuses like their Internet connection broke down, or their hard drive crashed, or they were sick, and so on. They will be there when you need them. No delays. No excuses.

What are PLR articles?

PLR Basics No Comments »

PLR articles, or Private Label Rights articles are articles written by others that you can use on your website or blog as if it’s your own content.

You can change the content of the articles in any way, if you want. You can edit the opening paragraph, or add a new one. You can change the title of the articles. And best of all, you can put your own name as the author of the article.

A warning, though. Just because you obtain private label rights doesn’t mean you become the owner of the article. You don’t have any rights that haven’t explicitly been given by the seller to you.

For example, you may or may not be able to sell the article as part of a paid product or membership site. Similarly, you may or may not be able to provide PLR rights to the modified (or unmodified) article to others.

The creator of the article may have restrictions on the way you distribute and publish the PLR article. Also, obtaining PLR rights does not mean you also become the copyright holder. The author of the PLR article retains the copyright.

In each case, it’s best to stick to the rights that you have been explicitly provided. When in doubt, you can ask the provider of the PLR articles.

Words = MONEY, honey!

General No Comments »

If you ask me what the MOST important element of a website is, I would say it’s the words.

  • The words on your web pages or blog post (aka your content) help bring in free search engine traffic that you can convert into money (via product sales, Adsense clicks, affiliate sales, and so on)
  • The words that other use to link to your site (aka the anchor text) greatly influences how high you rank in the search engines when people look for things related to what your site provides.
  • The words that you use in your pages or posts affect what people think about your site or blog. This in turn affects whether or not they subscribe to your RSS feed, or subscribe to your newsletter, or link back to your site, and so on.
  • Oh, yeah, and the keywords that you target on your site determines the quality and quantity of traffic that you get from the search engines.

So as you can see, words are probably the most important thing related to your website. Everything starts and stops with words, at least on today’s web.

It could be keyword research, it could be the words that make up your content, it could be the words that are present in your anchor texts, but the bottom line is that without proper words, you would be nowhere.

So with that said, if you want to make money with words, here is what you need to do, in a nutshell:

  1. Do proper keyword research
  2. Put more content on your web site, targeting your most profitable keywords
  3. As much as possible, try to  influence the words used in the anchor text in links pointing to your website or blog

On this blog, we will only focus on the number 2 point above – putting more and more content on your website. And in particular, we will focus on using PLR material to create as much content as possible.
